RoR config/boot.rb

config ディレクトリの boot.rb ファイルを覗いてみた。Rails を起動するためのスクリプトらしい。内容は次のようになる。

このファイルが何をするためのファイルなのかは、スクリプトの最後のコメントを見れば分かる。要するに、

Rails.boot!

をするためのファイルなのだ。スクリプトを見るとへんなスクリプトだ。関数の定義しかない。変数の代入や制御構造がまったく見当たらない。単にモジュールやクラス定義の中に変数が記述してあるだけなのだ。そうして最後に Rails.boo! が呼ばれている。全てといっていいほどのものが関数の定義だけで出来ている。まるで、関数プログラミングのソースを見ているようだ。
